Woman Accused of DUI with Children in the Vehicle in Wisconsin

|

Most parents in Wisconsin would tell others that their children are one of the most important things in their life. As much as parents love their children, however, they can create complications in life. For example, when a person has multiple children, traveling places can become more complicated. Because of the distraction of crying children, for example, a driver's attention may momentarily leave the road. Unfortunately, what is a relatively simple matter of a distracting child could be misinterpreted as DUI by law enforcement officials.

A 27-year-old woman in Wisconsin was recently arrested. She was reportedly stopped by a member of the Wisconsin State Patrol one morning on a day in April. The trooper then allegedly discovered that the woman was under the influence. Reports indicate that there were four children in the vehicle at the time.

Many of the details regarding the incident are unclear, including why the woman was initially stopped or what caused the trooper to suspect the woman was under the influence. Details regarding how her level of sobriety was determined are also uncertain. She has since been charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.

Unfortunately, a DUI charge can have a significant impact on a person's life. Many people facing such accusations often do not have the experience or training to allow them to fully understand how to respond to their predicament. Fortunately, there are legal professions in Wisconsin who can ensure that a defendant fully understands his or her options as well as the potential outcomes of each.
